ABOUT BATTER UP BAKERY

Welcome to Batter Up Bakery! 

My name is Harley Lander, I am a 6th grader from Livingston, NJ. In 2025, I started my organization Batter Up Bakery because I think every kid deserves a special treat on their birthday or during a big moment in their life, even if their family is going through a tough time. I love baking and growing up with a baker for a mom showed me how making a special treat for someone else can show them how much you care! I realized it’s one of those small things that can make people feel happy and cared about. So I wanted to use it to help other kids feel celebrated. I also grew up playing baseball and finding a passion for it. In baseball, one of my favorite parts is cheering for my teammates and making them feel included. My love for baseball and the values it taught me are where the name of my organization comes from.

The whole purpose of Batter Up Bakery is to bring joy to kids who might not always get the chance to have cakes, cupcakes, or cookies for their celebrations. Sadly, many families can’t afford those treats, and I didn’t want any kid to feel left out or forgotten. Especially on their birthday or when celebrating a special event. When a child gets their own cake, made just for them, it makes them feel important and loved. Batter Up Bakery is all about making kids feel special no matter what.
